Damn The Fates
It's Empty and Cold Without You Here
I wake up when I feel Ryn slide back in the truck beside me. A slight feel of longing washes over me. I look up at the clock on the dash, seeing it was close to dawn.
"Sleep darlin', try to get some rest. It's gonna be a long ride. You'll need it"
I look up at Ryn and nod, snuggling into his side and closing my eyes.
I wake up but I'm not in the truck anymore. I'm in a bed. The room is dark and I can barely see what it looks like. A soft snore comes from beside me.
I can make out the shape of a person, a guy because the shoulders are broader than a woman's. Thick, dark hair is fanned out on the pillow, and I can kinda make out a tattoo across the broad, muscled back. Something about this feels weird, like deja vu.
Then it hits me. I'm in another dream.
This, this must be Syn.
While I am lost in thought, a heavily tattooed arm finds its way across my stomach protectively, his fingers, rough and caloused, lightly drawing swirls over my hypersensitive skin. I jump and look up to see those brown eyes looking at me sleepily. I still can't tell much about his face, just the general shape and the shock of messy dark hair falling over it. I slowly reach up and brush it back, feeling the silky strands gliding across my fingers.
"Mornin' babe."
His breath hits my bare shoulder softly as the bed dips to accomodate his shifting weight. He places the palm of his hand protectively over my lower abdomen, something shining in his eyes, an emotion I just can't place. His lips press softly against mine, the only part of him that is soft besides his hair.
"Did you sleep well?"
I nod hesitantly. This is getting weird, way weird.
We both look towards the door as the handle wiggles. His arm tightens around me, pulling me into his chest. The door opens and a tall, lanky someone bursts in.
I freeze as his blue eyes find me.
Blue eyes that matched mine.
"Ji-Jimmy?!"
