Fresh Starts.

I was woken up the next morning by Brian and Cam bringing me breakfast in bed. “Good morning mama, Bri and I made you panacakes!” Cameron said excitedly, walking over to give me a hug and kiss. “Oh thank you boys, did you eat baby?” I asked my son, “I sure did, I ate with Bri. Two pancakes! Brian had four, he’s a fatty.” he said, giving Brian the side-eye, causing me to laugh. “He’s not a fatty, he just eats a lot. You’ll do the same thing once you’re an adult. How about you go get ready for your day at school, and once I finish my breakfast I’ll come tie your shoes and help you fix your mohawk?” “Oh a mohawk today? Oh thank you Mom, you‘re the best!” He shouted as he ran off into his room. I grinned and looked up at Brian, who was still holding the tray of food. “Happy Valentine’s day baby. Heart shaped pancakes, bacon, and oranges. That should be enough to hold you while you’re at the spa.” he said, sitting the tray in my lap and giving me a kiss. “Brian, you didn’t have to do this. Buuuut I’m glad you did, because I have this. Happy Valentine‘s day my love!” I said, pulling a small box out of the drawer in my night stand and handing it to him. “Brook, seriously? Presents don’t come until tonight.” “Oh shut up and take it, I wanted to get it for you, and that’s not your only present, the best one comes tonight.” “Oh I know it does” he said, wiggling his eyebrows. I laughed and took a bite of my breakfast, watching him open the pair of Aviator shades I bought him. “Man baby these are great, thank you!” he said, placing a kiss on my head. “I’m gonna jump in the shower while you eat, Madi has been fed and changed, so she’s ready for her day. Want me to go get her?” “Of course, bring her play mat in here please, she can play on the bed while I eat.” I said with a smile. Brian nodded and quickly walked out of the room. I smiled, hearing him talk to her in her bedroom through her monitor. “You awake sweet girl? Mama wants to see you” he cooed, earning a few coos from my daughter. “Let’s go see Mom, I think she misses her girl.” He walked back in our bedroom with Madelyn in his arms. I immediately stretched my arms out, and he placed her in them. I moved the tray out of my way, full after eating most of the food on my plate, and peppered Madi’s face with kisses. “Good morning my girl, did you sleep good? I didn’t hear you all night.” I said, watching her face light up with a smile as I talked to her. Brian had her dressed in the cutest little outfit: a red dress with little white hearts, white tights, and black patent shoes with a little red bow in her beautiful dark brown hair. “You sure do look pretty today baby girl. Lay right here and play while mommy gets ready for the spa.” I kissed her head and laid her down, then walked into the closet to find something to wear to the spa. I settled on a pair of gray yoga pants, a black Metallica shirt, my black tennis shoes, and a thin black jacket. Walking into the bathroom I brushed my teeth and washed my face, and pulled my hair into a long side braid. Since we were going to the spa and I was going to get a facial, I decided to skip makeup. I had just finished getting ready when Brian stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around himself. “Jesus, you’re not even dressed up and you’re still gorgeous.” Brian said as he dried himself off. “Oh stop it, you’re just sucking up because it’s Valentine’s Day.” I said with a laugh. “No way babe, you’re always beautiful to me.” Brian said, kissing me on the top of my head. “I’m gonna go get dressed, if I’m late to the studio the guys would kill me.” Brian walked out of the bathroom just as the doorbell rang. I grabbed Madi off the bed and we walked downstairs, only to have Cameron jump out of his room shouting “my aunties are here!” He ran to the front door and flung it open, revealing the girls with their arms full of gifts. “My favorite little Valentine!” Val said excitedly as she scooped Cam up in her already full arms. “Happy Valentine’s day aunt Val, did you bring presents?” Cameron asked, causing all the girls to laugh. “Of course we did baby, what kind of aunts would we be if we didn’t give our babies presents?” she said with a smile. “You would still be awesome, but not as cool.” “Cameron James!” I said sternly. “Okay fine, you would still be cool.” he said, climbing out of Val’s arms and leading the girls into the living room. After they showered the kids with more gifts, Brian came downstairs dressed and ready for the day. “Okay kiddos, time to get to the daycare so your mom can go to the spa.” I helped him gather everything he needed to take for the kids, and got Madi in her seat. “Okay babe, Dad said that either he or Suzy will be picking them up today, so I need to leave Cam’s seat right?” he asked, making sure he’s got everything he needs. “Yea babe, just tell the ladies up front that he’s coming to get the babies and you need to leave his seat. They will put it in a closet for you.” “Okay, everyone kiss mommy and your aunties, we have to go.” We all kissed the babies, and I gave Brian a kiss. “I love you babe. Be careful with my babies!” I said sternly with a smile. “I love you too, PLEASE be careful. And have fun girls!” Brian shouted as he walked out the door. “Okay, who’s ready for the spa?” I asked excitedly, grabbing my purse and keys. “We’ll take the Rover, you guys haven’t ridden in it yet.” “Okay let’s go, I’m excited to be pampered all day.” Gena said with a smile. We all piled in the car and headed toward our day of relaxing at the spa.

After we spent a full day at the spa, we all left nice and refreshed, and decided to stop by the diner for some food before we went our separate ways to prepare for later tonight. “So Brook, what do you think Brian has planned for you guys tonight?” Lacey asked. “I honestly have no idea, he said it’s going to be the best night of my life, but I can’t imagine what’s going to happen.” I trailed off, racking my brain on what he could be doing. “Oh! Maybe he’s going to propose!” Leana said excitedly, “Oh Lee I don’t think so” “Well why not? I mean you guys are practically married now, you just don’t have the same last name.” Val said, “What would you say if he did propose?” Gena asked “I would say yes without even thinking about it. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to the kids and I.” I said dreamily, while the girls all said “Aww” “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what he’s got under his sleeve.” I said with a smile. We finished our lunch with small talk and I drove the girls back to my house so they could get Val’s car. We said our goodbyes and made promises to have lunch together tomorrow so we could discuss our nights. I made my way inside the house and started dinner. While the steaks were in the pan I went upstairs to hang Brian’s picture in his office. It took me a little while because the damn thing was so big, but I finally got it hung and placed a huge red bow on the corner. I took the steaks out of the pan and placed them in the oven to keep warm, and ran upstairs to get ready, Brian would be home in 30 minutes and I was still in my sweats with no makeup on. I quickly did my hair and makeup and threw my clothes and shoes on, along with some jewelry. I got the table set up and lit all the candles, and threw the shrimp in the pan just as Brian was walking in the door. “Hey babe, I’m home. God you look gorgeous.” he said, putting his bags down and walking over to hug me from behind. He placed a small kiss on the side of my neck. “How was your day at the spa?” “It was amazing. My first time at the spa. My toes are purple.” I said excitedly, causing him to laugh. I took the shrimp out of the pan and plated everything up. “Come on babe, let’s eat before it gets cold.” We ate dinner over small talk and cracked jokes at each other about how cheesy we are on Valentine’s day. “We are so ridiculous, like a bunch of damn teenagers.” I said with a laugh as we were finishing the cheesecake I made for dessert. “Okay, get up and come with me, I have a huge surprise for you.” I said, grabbing Brian’s hand and dragging him upstairs. We got to his office door and I made him close his eyes. “Seriously? It’s my office, I know what’s in there Brook.” “Don’t give me attitude Brian Haner, just close them” I said with a laugh. He finally closed his eyes with a huff, and I put both hands over them, just so he couldn’t peek. “Okay babe, open the door and walk in.” I directed him to the desk, where his other gifts were. “Okay, open.” I said, watching his face light up when he found the book of pictures Val had taken of me. “Oh babe, I’m taking these on tour with me, these are amazing.” he said, causing me to laugh. I had also gotten him a couple new shirts, some of his favorite candy, and a new pair of Nikes to wear on stage. “Thanks so much babe, this is awesome.” he said, putting everything back into his bags. “Oh, that’s not all, I’m gonna need you to turn around.” I said from behind him. He turned around and his jaw dropped when he saw the picture hanging on the wall. “Holy fucking shit Brooklyn.” was all he said. He walked closer to it, and said “holy shit” again. “Do you like it?” I asked with a chuckle. “Like it? I fucking love it Brook.” he said, picking me up and kissing me. “Okay, now it’s your turn.” he said, dragging me back downstairs to the living room, where there were gifts all over the coffee table “Brian!” I said shocked. “This is too much.” “Babe, it’s never too much for you, now open!” he said excitedly. I opened all my gifts, stopping to comment on how much I loved them. I got a couple new outfits, a bracelet, some new flats, and a gift certificate to get my hair done. “Oh thank you so much Bri. I love it. I love you.” I said, kissing him. “Oh we’re not done, come on. Grab your jacket, we’re going outside.” I put on my leather jacket and followed him out the back door, where I saw the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

I am SO incredibly sorry that I haven't written anything in almost a year. Life has been insane and I've had no internet connection to post chapters, but I plan on posting regularly again, I miss my stories! Hopefully you all will forgive me and continue reading!
