I was in the middle of wrapping Brian’s last gift when the doorbell rang. I jumped up to answer it, “Oh hey Bri, you can’t go in the living room!” I said as I kissed his cheek. “What? Are you hiding something?” he asked “Oh yeah. I forgot to send my other boyfriend home. Sorry babe.” I joked. “Just kidding, I’m wrapping the last of your gifts. It’ll only take a sec.” “Well, fine. I’ll go see what Cam’s doing.” he said as he kissed me and walked to Cameron’s room. I finished my wrapping and put all the supplies away. I went and cleared off the kitchen table, and placed the undecorated cookies in the middle, along with sprinkles and icing. I walked into Cameron’s room, watching Brian reading a dinosaur book to him. “Excuse me there boys” I said, “I need some help decorating cookies. Any takers?” “Oh me mama!” Cam said as he jumped up “I can decorate them all!” he shouted as he ran toward the kitchen. “Come on babe, I’ll help him.” Brian chuckled. While the boys were decorating the cookies, I decided to bake the cake and pie, and get dinner started. “Hey Bri, is grilled chicken and vegetables okay with you for dinner?” I asked. “Sure babe, I’m not picky, just cook what you like.” he smiled. The boys finished the cookies around the same time dinner was finished. We all sat down to eat, and Madi started crying. I went back in her room to change her diaper and bring her into the living room, I stopped in the hall when I heard them talking. “Brian, do you like my mama?” Cam questioned. “I do buddy, I really like your mom.” “I think she likes you too. It makes me bery happy.” “What does buddy?” Brian asked. “You and mommy make me bery happy.” “Well you guys make me very happy too Cameron.” Brian replied. I smiled and walked into the dining room, placing Madi in her swing on the way. “So Cam,” I started “are you excited about Santa coming tonight?” “Oh yes! Santa! Mama we have to leave him cookies!” he said excitedly. “Yeah baby, cookies and milk. Once we’re finished with dinner you can pick out a few to leave for him before you go to bed.” “Okay mama” “Cam what did you ask for from Santa?” Brian asked him. “Oh well, some new dinosaurs.” he said simply. “That’s it? New dinosaurs?” “Yeah, I like them” Cam said with a smile.

After dinner was done and Cameron picked out cookies for Santa we all sat down and watched Elf, which is one of Cam’s favorite movies. He fell asleep about halfway through, and Brian carried him to bed. “Mama,” he said sleepily, “I love you.” “I love you too doodle bug, I’ll see you in the morning after Santa comes.” I replied, kissing his head. Once we were back in the living room I said “You don’t have to go, you know. You can stay here. I mean you have to be here in the morning anyway to bring Bruce over.” “Are you sure babe? I mean I can go home and sleep. It’s no big deal. You’d just have to call and wake me up in the morning.” he replied. “It’s ok, I promise. Why don’t you run home, grab a change of clothes and the dogs, and come back. I want to meet Pinkly anyway” I suggested. “That’s a good idea. I’ll be back soon babe.” he said as he kissed me and left. While he was gone I called Gena. “G, I need some help. I invited Brian to stay over.” I said nervously. “What? You did? Hang on, the girls are here, I’ll grab them and we’ll head upstairs for some girl talk.” she said as she quickly called for the girls to come upstairs for a second. “Okay B, you’re on speaker. Thanks for coming over, by the way.” She said jokingly. “I’m sorry Gena! I had to wrap gifts and bake! I’ll be with you guys tomorrow” I exclaimed. “I know, okay, down to business. So you invited Brian to stay the night?” she asked and the other girls gasped. “Oh you go girl!” Leana said excitedly. “Oh come on Lee, I don’t even know if that’s gonna happen.” I said nervously. “Should I let that happen? I mean we haven’t even gone on a date yet. I don’t want to seem easy” “Brook honey the only one that can decide if that should happen is you. I promise you won’t look easy. Hell Johnny and I hooked up before we were even together, which is why we got together I guess..” Lacey trailed off. “Okay girls. I get it” I chuckled. We stayed on the phone for a while longer, until the doorbell rang. “Oh shit, I guess that’s Bri. I’ll see you girls tomorrow. Love you guys!” I said, and got a chorus of “Love you too!” and “Good luck!” in response. I disconnected and opened the door to reveal Brian and two dogs. “Oh Bruce! Brian he’s so cute!” I said taking the dog out of his arms. “Where are you gonna hide him until the morning?” Brian asked. “I’ll put him in my bathroom. Cam won’t be able to hear him in there” I replied. “Is this Pinkly? She’s so cute!” I exclaimed. “Okay, come on. Let’s get this dog in the bathroom and we can watch a movie in bed.”

We got the dogs all settled in, and picked out a movie on Netflix. We were laying there when Brian suddenly turned to me and said “I have to tell you something, and I really don’t want you to freak out.” “Uh, okay, what is it?” I asked confused. “I’m pretty sure I’m falling for you. I know it’s only been a few weeks but you are seriously the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. You’re beautiful, strong, loyal, and an amazing mother. Not to mention you have great taste in music.” Brian said with a smile. “Holy shit. You scared me. I thought you were gonna tell me you had an eleventh toe or something” I chuckled. “I think I’m falling for you too Bri, I’m just terrified of being hurt.” I explained. “Brook, I will do everything in my power to not hurt you. That’s my promise to you.” he said, “Besides, the guys would murder me if I did, and I don’t even want to think about what Val and Leana are capable of” he shuddered. I laughed and said “well as long as you keep your promise you won’t have to worry about it.” He smiled and leaned in to kiss me. It was passionate, and full of love. We started pulling off items of clothes, and he only hesitated to ask “Are you sure B?” And when I nodded he didn’t stop until he showed me how hard he was falling.
