The Ugly Side of Me Is Strong

Brian’s POV
I listened to him spout his bullshit as his back faced me.
Now or never. I thought.
“Just get out! Please! We’ve done nothing to you and we don’t owe you a damn thing!” Cat cried.
“Just shut up!” Michael yelled, putting a hand in her face.
“What happened to you dad?” Her mother questioned, quietly.
Michael took a seat in the chair and starred at them both for a few moments before he spoke.
“I went through a change and invested in a business for myself. I made something of myself; a thing your lazy mother would never let me do. She held me back.” He answered.
“MY mother was lazy?” Melinda began.
“My mother is the least lazy person I know. I NEVER remember her being lazy. But I do remember her busting her ass cleaning the house and taking care of your sorry ass my whole life. She never felt more relieved when you went missing and neither did I!”
He remained in his seat as she went on.
“You were the saddest excuse for a father anyone could ever have and I was so happy you were gone!”
That did it. He stood up from his chair and his hand was around her throat as he held her to the wall.
“If you weren’t such a little bitch we would have gotten along a lot better! You never listened to me and you never did anything you were told! Your head was always in the clouds and you never took responsibility for anything!” he seethed, in her face.
“Your mouth always got you in trouble.”
I watched as his teeth elongated; Cat’s face in horror as she realized what he was about to do. She stepped closer to him.
“Leave her alone! It’s me you want, not her!” She screamed at him.
“Please! She has nothing to do with this!”
“I’m just making sure my point is clear. And now that I see that it is, take her away!” he hollered, tossing her mother to the ground and a guard took her quickly out of the room.
“Cat! No!” She cried.
“This could have all been so easy, Caterina.” He began, taking steps closer to her while she slowly backed away from him.
“You could have been something, but instead you chose to defy my wishes and be with…with him!” he motioned to me.
“I’ve told you, I owe you nothing! You’re completely insane if you think I will ever do anything you ask of me! You don’t own me! Just because I’m related to you doesn’t mean I owe you something.” Cat whimpered, as her back hit the wall.
I quickly tore a leg of a chair from its frame and held it firmly in my hand as I lunged toward him and before he realized what I was doing, I jammed the wood into his back through his chest.
A god awful growl escaped his mouth as he inspected the sharp wood sticking out of him. He slowly turned around to face me, his eyes wide.
“You will pay for this.” He spit.
“It’s over now. You’re done. It’s all done.”
I watched as his knees hit the floor with a hard thud. His breathing ragged, he looked up at me.
“You will pay.”
And his body fell completely to the floor, blood escaping from his mouth and eyes.
He was finally dead.
