Brian’s POV
About 15 minutes after we sat down Cat fell asleep on my shoulder. I looked down at her peaceful face and smiled. I wanted her here with me. It would be safer for all of us with Michael around. He hadn’t come yet, but I figure it would be soon. It’s only been a day. He’s probably rounding up people to find us all. They could be on their way here for all we know. That’s why the guys were in the guest house, along with my brothers, in case shit went down.
I flipped channels again while she slept next to me. About 20 minutes later she stirred slightly and her head fell on my shoulder.
“How long have I been asleep?” she asked, groggily.
“Not long.” I smiled.
I watched as she rubbed her eyes and stretched her legs out on the couch.
“What time is it?”
“Almost sunrise.”
I stood up switching off the TV.
“Come on, come to bed.” I reached out my hand and she hesitated for a moment before taking my hand and standing up.
“Can I get something to drink first?” she asked.
I nodded and she let go of my hand and I followed her in the kitchen. She had a glass of water and we started up the stairs. She went in front of me and giggled like crazy when I grabbed up hips as we went up. I loved that about her. So innocent…
We entered my room and she went straight for the bed, crawling under the covers into a ball.
“Cold?”
“Yeah, a little.”
“Do you want another cover?”
“Nah, just get in the bed and I’ll get warm.” She smiled.
“Well, I’ll probably make you colder.” I laughed as I crawled in next to her.
She shook her head.
“No, it just makes me feel better. I’ll get warm soon.”
She moved a little closer to me and put her arm around my waist. I hesitated to do the same. I was afraid I was going to hurt her. She looked up at me and I slowly moved my arm around her bringing her to my chest. I looked down at her and she smiled up at me.
“Warm now?” I asked.
“Yeah.” She smirked.
She closed her eyes and soon I heard her breathing slow. She was so beautiful when she slept. So peaceful. I could get used to this.
