The Ugly Side of Me Is Strong

Chapter 10

Brian’s POV
“Calm down. We’ll find her.” Jimmy said to me.
“Marco took her. I know he did. He was there outside the diner.”
“Well, what should we do then?” Matt piped in.
“What if she’s already dead?”
I shook my head.
“Well we need to figure this out then because I’m getting hungry.” Jimmy smiled.
I rolled my eyes.
“I bet you are too. Too bad someone’s got her huh?” Zack laughed.
“Shut the fuck up! We need to go.”
“Go where?” Matt questioned.
“Michael’s.”
“We’ll be slaughtered before we even get within 200 yards of the place.”
“Then we go around them.”
“How?”
“We take them out that’s how.”

Cat’s POV

I sat there in the dark. There were no lamps around or anything else for that matter. Just an empty room. I sat there for I don’t know how long on the floor. My eyes burning from crying.
Oh, stop crying. Crying isn’t gonna help you right now. I sniffed to myself.
I noticed light peeking underneath what seemed to be curtain. I made my over to it. It felt like a curtain. I slowly pulled it back. It was a window! I’ve never been so happy to see a window in my life. But the ground was too far down. It was a very long drop. I sighed and sat down in front of the window. Now what?

Brian’s POV

Michael’s house was surrounded by woods. We slowly approached the edge of the woods searching for guards. Zack pointed to the right close to the tree line. He pounced on the guard and snapped his neck before he even knew it. We made our way out of the tree line across the large lawn in the back of the house. Guards came at us quick. Soon there was all out fight that broke loose. The five of us against ten or twelve of them. I snapped a neck when I felt arms around me trying to break me in half. I flipped him over me and stomped on his throat crushing it.

Cat’s POV

I sat there on the verge of tears again, wondering how in the hell I was going to get out of this. I had no idea what my grandfather was going to do to me. I put my head in my hands and tears welled up in my eyes. There was a noise coming from somewhere. My head raised as my ears strained to figure out what it was. It was coming from outside.
Oh my god, someone’s outside the window. I first thought.
I slowly rose, hiding behind the curtain. My eyes widen as I saw below me what was really going on. They were fighting. The guards, Matt, Zack, Johnny, Jimmy, and Brian…
He came to find me. A smile now planted on my face I gently opened the window. This one wasn’t sealed shut like the others.
“Wow, great way to keep someone in grandpa.” I chuckled.
I crawled up on the windowsill and I heard footsteps outside coming up the hallway.
Shiiittee.
As quickly as I could, I stepped onto the roof and closed the window as much as I could behind me. I was crouched against the roof waiting. I peeked through the small slit in the curtain. Light from the hallway came flooding into the dark room, illuminating the roof outside. I quietly scooted back a little further trying to get out of the light. It was the man who threw me in there. He quickly scanned the room and discovering I wasn’t there, he slammed the door harshly behind him.
I need to get on the ground, but how? I stood up, trying to hold my balance as best as I could on the slanted roof and starting making my way to the end. They were still fighting. It was the most gruesome thing I had ever seen in my life. There were body fights flying. Legs, arms, heads…. It looked like Brian and his friends had the upper hand. They all moved at lightening speed. I couldn’t keep my eye on any of them. They all look like a one big blur. I kept going on the roof until I heard a voice coming from the balcony below me. I carefully laid down on my stomach and poked my head over. My grandfather was shouting angrily about something.
“What do you mean she’s not in there?!” he yelled.
“Sir, she’s gone.”
“And what the hell is this?”
He pointed at the men fighting.
“I’m assuming they’ve come for her, sir.”
“No really? You think?”
“What should we do about them?”
“Let them fight.”
“But what about the guards, sir? They’ve already killed most of them.”
“I can find more guards. Let them kill each other. I don’t care.”
The man went back inside and I waited until my grandfather went back inside before I leaned back onto the roof.
A hand went over my mouth and I tried to scream, but couldn’t. My heart was pounding. My grandfather’s worker had found me I knew it. Then I heard a familiar voice in my ear that calmed my nerves.
“Shh, it’s me.” Brian whispered.
I sighed a sigh of relief as he let his hand fall from my mouth. I turned around and I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck.
“Are you ok?” he asked.
I nodded.
“They didn’t hurt you did they?”
“No, I’m fine.”
“Come on. We need to get out of here.”
He grabbed me up into his arms and we were on the ground in a second. My breath caught as I realized what had just happened.
“Sorry, we just really need to leave.” Brian tried to smile.
I agreed and still carrying me we ran for the forrest.
