-Saturday October 5th/Annikki's POV-

"Hey, Annikki?" I heard mom call from the kitchen.
"Yeah, mom?" I replied, walking down to where she was.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Uh, sure," I replied cautiously as I sat on the counter.
"How would you feel about us taking a vacation, just me and you."
"Uh, I don't know, why wouldn't dad come along?"
"We've been fighting a little lately, jut as a little bit of down time between me and him,"
"Well, I mean, where would we go?"
"I don't know, out of the country somewhere, that'd be fun, right?"
"Yeah, I guess but, when would we go?"
"How about thanksgiving break? We go to London or France and come back a week later."
"But, me and the guys-"
"KATIE!" Dad yelled, he must have just got home.
"Annikki, go out the window, go to Matt's. I'll call you when you can come back," mom shooed me out. "I love you, sweetie."
"Love you too, mom," I said as I crawled through the window just in time, I crouched down behind a bush and watched through the window.
They yelled for a while but, dad did the unexpected. He slapped mom. Oh HELL no.
I didn't care what would happen to me. I ran to the back door and ran inside.
"Why the hell did you just slap my mom?" I yelled at dad.
"Annikki," mom quietly spoke.
"Your mother has been cheating on me! I can see it in her eyes!" Dad yelled back at me.
"CHEATING ON YOU?" I screamed. "You're kidding, right?"
"I can tell!" He yelled back.
"THATS NO EXCUSE! I know she hasn't been cheating on you. She loves you." I said, the last part quietly. "Give me one way you can tell."
"I told you before! I can see it in her eyes,"
"Yeah right!" I exclaimed.
"Annikki," mom started. "Please, just go, pack a bag,"
"You're sending our daughter away now! You just want to get rid of us all, huh?" Dad yelled at mom.
"Maybe I will go! Not because I'm being asked to but, because I'm tired of the yelling," I said and ran up to my room.
I packed a duffel bag of a weeks worth of clothes and zipped it up. I grabbed my school bag, my guitar case, and picked up my duffel bag and made my way down the stairs.
Mom and dad were still yelling at each other.
"I'll see you guys in a week!" I yelled and got out of the house as fast as I could. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed Matt's number.
"Hiya!" He chirped into the phone.
"I'm still welcome to stay at your house, right?" I asked.
"Of course! You need a pick up?"
"Yeah, go to the park by my house."
"Okay! Will do!"
"Thanks"
"No problem."
I sat on the park bench, waiting for Matt, looking like a hobo. I thought a lot about what was happening to my family. My parents have only started fighting a couple months ago. All because my dad has this stupid thought that my mom is cheating on him. If anything, he would be cheating on her. I know that's low to think but. It could be a possibility.
What would happen to my family? Would my parents get divorced?
i got brought out of my thoughts by Matt honking his car horn. Shit, when did it start raining?
"Hey buddy," Matt greeted as I got into the passenger seat. "What happened at home this time?"
"My parents are fighting, my dads accusing my mom of cheating an all that shit," I sighed deeply, trying to keep the tears away. Normally I would call Matt if I got into a fight with my parents, then my mom would call Mary, and she would talk to me, and is stay the night and go home the next day. "I don't want them to get divorced."
"Annikki, they won't get divorced. My parents fight all the time and there been together for what? 20 or so years, they'll pull through. I promise," he told me, it made me feel better but, I just had this feeling in my gut that it would all end up crumbling before my eyes. "How long are you staying?"
"Until mom calls to tell me I can come home, or a week, whichever comes first I guess."
"You can stay as long as you want, you're family!"
"Yeah..." I sighed. Id like to not be family-zoned.
