Breaking Their Hold
Chapter Three
I get home, and the door is locked. Good thing they never lock the back door, huh? So I walk around to the back fence and go on in. Huh. They must have taken the dogs, they weren’t attacking me the second I touched the gate.
I get to the back door, and sure enough, it’s unlocked. As I trek through the house, it is dead silent. I locate where I hid my phone, so I didn’t have to answer it when people called and tried to give me lectures on my behaviour, there is no fucking way I am going to put up with that shit, not now, not ever!
Turn it on, sure enough, hundreds of messages I am not going to read right now or at all for that matter. Ok, so where did I put the number for the shipping company… Ah-ha! Here it is, in my address book. I dial the number without any hesitation. That’s strange; I didn’t feel the urge to not call.
“Good afternoon, Green’s Shipping, how may I help you?”
“Oh hello. My name is Gee Cravelli; I called about a week ago in regards to a selection of shipments?”
“Oh yes! Miss Cravelli, I am so very sorry, I have been meaning to get in contact with you. Your shipment was sent off two days ago. I hope that is ok?”
“Oh great! Thank-you! No that’s not a problem at all. As a matter of fact, that is a really good thing!”
“I know you were still contemplating whether or not you were sure about it, I mean after all, they are all of your belongings.”
“Yes I know, but I am actually glad it went to be honest.”
“Now I have spoken to Qantas, and they have organised some special room for the rest of your luggage, how many suitcases are you planning to take with you?”
“Umm…. I think it may be around 4 medium-large cases. Is that ok?”
“Oh no, that’s fine, I told them there may be more than that, they’ll be thrilled.”
I laughed at that comment, which made my mood less saddened.
“Ok then, well thank you very much for all the help you’ve given me. It means a lot, and has taken a weight off of my shoulders.”
“That is no problem Miss Cravelli; you enjoy your new home, and seize the day.”
‘Seize the day’ such inspirational words. It makes me think of Avenged Sevenfold. Crap! I hadn’t listened to them for almost a week now.
No wonder I’ve been feeling so tense lately, I haven’t been listening to some of the most amazingly written and executed music….ever.
I put my phone into the nearest speakers I could find, and put it on shuffle. The first song that starts playing is A Little Piece of Heaven.
For some twisted reason, this song makes me feel relaxed, and I begin to smile, close my eyes, and pack the remainder of my belongings into my newly purchased suitcases, and with great haste I booked my flight, and trained it to Melbourne Airport, where I set off for California.
