I woke up and my left arm was asleep, I opened my eyes and realized that we were home and I had my arms wrapped around Jimmy’s neck. This explains why my arm is asleep. I moved a little to see if he was still asleep and he was, but I had to pee. I moved slightly and got out of bed, he fell off of his side and face planted into the pillow which is how he usually sleeps. I went into the bathroom and checked my reflection in the mirror, my hair was a fucking nasty mess thanks to all the chlorine in the pool and there was no doubt in my mind that it was matted in the back. I went pee and then continued to examine myself in the mirror.
“Bray?” I heard Jimmy say
I left the bathroom after washing my hands.
“I didn’t mean to wake you up baby.” I said
“It’s fine.” He said
He went to rake his fingers through his hair but his was also a knotted mess.
“Want to shower?” I asked pointing into the bathroom
He nodded and he looked like he was struggling to get out of bed cause he was so tired. My poor baby, he eventually got up and we walked into the bathroom, we got into the shower and I started to wash my hair as I looked up at him with was fiddling with his.
“This is going to be painful to brush out, I’ve always showered after swimming.” He mumbled
“I’ll brush it out, there is a trick to go it.” I said
He looked down at me and sleepily nodded.
“Then we’ll order a pizza and lay back down okay?” I asked
“I’d like that.” He said
I stepped out from under the water to let him wash his hair, as I watching him I brushed through my hair because my brush was in the shower.
“That’s bad for your hair.” I heard Jimmy say
“I know but I want to get it over with.” I said
I pulled it back into a high pony tail and looked up at him.
“Today is going to be a lazy day but tonight we can do what I said we’d to last night.” I said
He smiled and wrapped his arms around me, I leaned into his warm chest and we stood under the hot water for a little bit.
“Let’s get out.” He said
I nodded and we got out of the shower. I walked into the room and grabbed a pair of his boxers and a t-shirt. I was two fucking lazy to put a bra on. I grabbed the phone and ordered a large pepperoni pizza.
“Pizza will be here in ten.” I said
Jimmy nodded and came out of the bathroom still trying to rake his fingers through his matted hair.
“Come sit.” I said
I sat on the bed and he sat in front of me, I raised myself up on my knees so I was taller and picked his brush out of his hands.
“See the trick is to start from the bottom up.” I said starting to brush his hair.
I was almost done when the doorbell rang, he groaned when I stopped to go get the door. I took and paid for the pizza and went to shut the door when there was a loud thump from upstairs. What was he doing? I locked the front door and grabbed the pizza and sprinted up the stairs. Jimmy was laying on the floor.
“Baby what happened?” He asked
“I was laying here minding my own business waiting on you when a spider crawled on my hand.” He whined
I smiled at him, he was so scared of them. I walked over and set the pizza box on the bed and grabbed the brush. I knelt down next to him and finished the one piece of hair that was left. He ran his hand through it and smiled at me.
“No pain.” He said
“It’s a trick Madison’s mom taught me.” I said
He smiled.
“No let’s get back in bed.” I said
“No there are spiders.” He said like a seven year old girl
“I’m right here I’ll protect you.” I said
He smiled and we got back into bed and under the covers, the pizza box was between us and we were watching Edward Scissor Hands. When we were full Jimmy set the pizza box on the floor and pulled me so I was sitting in between his bent knees.
“You have to much leg you don’t know what to do with it baby.” I said
“I know.” He said
I leaned my back against his chest and he put his chin on the top of my head. His thumbs rubbed small circles on my sides and it relaxed me.
“I love all the inappropriate references the ginger makes about his hands.” Jimmy said talking about the movie
“I know right but it is rated PG thirteen.” I said
He nodded in agreement and we both relaxed peacefully throughout the day
