A New Beginning
Chapter Eight
(Brian's POV)
I sighed as Emma's dad walked over to my car. I took the keys out of the ignition and exited the vehicle. Emma also got out of the car and walked over to me, taking my arm in hers, as I looked at her dad. "Hello, Mr. Klassen." I greeted, trying to be polite to him.
"Hi, Brian. I see you and my daughter are... friends... again, correct?" He asked me, staring me down.
"Yes, sir. Emma and I talked everything through, and we have decided to pickup where our friendship left off."
"I'm not quite sure if I approve of that" He started. "You hurt her a lot, and I don't think it's good for you to be around her after everything you caus-." Emma cut him off before he could continue speaking.
"Dad," She said. "I'm twenty-two years old. You can't decide who I can and can't hang out with. I don't need you approval. I'm a big girl now... I'm doing what I think is best for myself." Her dad just nodded and looked between me and her.
"Alright," He said. "But if I ever find out that you hurt her again, I can and will hunt you down and kick your ass, you hear?"
I gulped and nodded. "Yes, sir." I looked over at Emma. Her face was a bit more pale than usual, and she looked a bit stressed. She pulled me inside to her room, and shut the door.
"Well..." I started. "That was... Very interesting." I chuckled and looked at Emma. She chucked a pillow at my face and flipped me off. She pulled a duffle bag out of her closet and threw enough clothing to last her a few days into it. She then went into her bathroom and picked out a few toiletries. A few moments later, she came out and motioned for me to come with her. She walked into the living room and told her dad that she would be back in a couple of days. Soon enough, we were on our way to my house. I was nervous about what would happen, now they we're friends again. I really wanted to be with her, though I didn't want to ruin our friendship.
