Chapter Four
-Two Days Later-
"Kathy!" I called from the top of the stairs, struggling to put on my necklace. "Can you drive me to the park?"
"Sure, sweetie. Right now?" She asked as I reached the kitchen.
"Yeah, I just got to get Jaeger. One sec!" I called as I ran back up the stairs to get Jaeger's leash. "Jaeger! Come here, boy!"
He came bounding into the room, obviously excited to be going out. I hooked the leash to his collar, observing the tag on it, gotta get that changed whenever we end up living with my dad.
"Dustin, you ready?" Kathy called, breaking me from my thoughts about my mom.
"Oh, yeah, lets go," I said and walked out the door. I was meeting Chase there, he was nice enough to help me get my next peircings, snake bites. I was excited.
"Here we are!" Kathy chirped.
"Thanks!" I called as I climbed out. "See ya later!"
"Bye!" She drove off.
"Chase?" I called out, wondering where my brother was. "Where the hell are you?"
"Dustin! You made it!" Chase called out, running after me.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I?"
"I figured Kathy would ask what you were going to be doing. She interrogated me this morning."
"Oh, I just asked her to take me to the park, she probably thought I was going to exercise Jaeger." Jaeger looked at me when I said his name. "So, did you get it?"
"Right here," he flashed the card, a fake ID to act as my guardian so I can get my peircings. "You ready to go get peirced up?"
"Yessir!" I saluted and we made our way to the peircing place.
-At the peircers-
"Alrighty, who's next?" A lady with bright red hair asked.
"We are!" Chase called out, standing up an pulling me with him.
"Which one of you is getting the peircing?" She asked.
"She is," Chase pointed at me.
"Are you her guardian?" She asked.
"Yes ma'am,"
"Alrighty, now, you guys need to fill out these papers," she handed us an application type thing. "And I need to see your ID, sir,"
He handed her his ID and she looked over it, then looked at me. "What's his middle name?"
"Dakota," I said without thinking. Of course I knew that. We called each other by our middle names all the time.
"When is his birthday?"
"April 24th,"
"How tall is he?" Seriously? How tall is he?
"How in the hell am I supposed to know how tall he is?" I asked, looking up at her.
"I was joking. Are you guys done?" She asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah," I pushed my paper towards her, Chase followed through with his paper.
"What are you looking to get peirced?" She asked me as I say in the chair.
"Uh, snakebites." I told her.
"Alright, here," she handed me a pen. "Mark where you want them."
I marked where I wanted them and have her the pen back.
"Alrighty, now close your eyes and tilt your head back, open your mouth too," she instructed.
I do so, not three seconds later did I feel a small pinch on my lip followed by the jewelry to be put in and then have the process repeated on the other side.
"All done!" She chirped and I opened my eyes to look in the mirror. "Follow me and I'll tell you how to take care of them an what not."
"How does it feel to be all peirced out now?" Chase asked quietly.
"I'm not all peirced out, just wait, I'll get more peircings later." I winked at him.
"Okay, you just need to clean around the holes twice a day with salt water and a q-tip. It will take 6-8 weeks to heal properly." She told me. I nodded. "Okay. Now the cost was.." And I walked of outside to see Jaeger.
"Hey buddy!" I called as I undid his leash from the bike rack. He barked happily as I did so.
"You ready to go?" Chase asked as he walked out. I nodded. "Lets go!"

when I first starts this, I wasn't gonna have River in it at all... But then I was like "fuck it!"
