I've known the members of Avenged Sevenfold since I was ten, they were all five to seven years older than me but they took to me. I moved in next door to Jimmy (the Rev) Sullivan.
"Brice! Get over here listen to this!" I heard Jimmy yelling for me from his basement window.
I was eighteen he was twenty four. I jumped out my first story window and crawled into his basement window. I hit the ground on my feet.
"And she lands perfectly again." I heard Zacky say
"I've mastered this landing dear sir." I said hugging him I looked over at Matt and Brian.
They knew about my huge crush on Zacky. The day I turned fifteen I had a thing for him even though the age difference would keep us apart he was only five years older than me. Jimmy picked up his drum stick and started to beat on his drums, then Zacky and Brian started to play for a bit then Johnny came in. Matt finally started to sing.
“My sixteen locked and loaded, all fear has been avoided. You say the words and my weapon is drawn. This time could be my last time; some people call it war crime. I may be staring down a lethal sight… to die.” He said pausing for a minute Zack looked at me and winked. “Nothing shocks you like a bullet hole, leaving my fear on the danger. Suffering a man should never know, leaving my faith on the danger line.” He sang Zack and Brian went to town on guitar. “I do this for my family, my daughter loves her daddy. Too many talk down on things they don’t know. With colors never faded, reckless and unabated. They may take me but never take us all, I’ll crawl. Nothing shocks you like a bullet hole, leaving my fear on the danger line. Suffering a man should never know, leaving my faith on the danger line. I know what you’re thinking, I’ve been there.” He sang out Everything slowed down. “So think of the times, the time we spent laughing away. So think of the times at home, life without a care.” Matt sang. He looked at me and swayed. “No I find myself in my own blood, never thought I’d lay in my own blood. The damage down is far beyond repair, I never put my faith in up above. Never had much faith in up above. But now I’m hoping someone’s there.” Matt sang with Brian coming in at some parts. “I never meant to leave this world alone. I never mean to hurt the ones who cared. Al all this time I thought we’d just grow old. You know, no one said it’s fair. Tell my baby girl it’s alight, I’ve sung my last song today. Remind the lord to leave his light on, for me I’m free.” Matt finished up.
They all intently stared at me waiting on my answer.
“It’s great guys, I loved it.” I smiled Matt’s face beamed as he pulled me into a hug he squeezed me.
“Matt Hun I can’t breathe.” I attempted to say.
“Sorry Brice.” He said I yawned and Jimmy looked at me.
“How are you tired it’s only eleven-thirty?” He smiled
“My medicine makes me tired.” I yawned again
“What kind of medicine are you on now?” Johnny asked
“Some antidepressant.” I said
“Stop being depressed.” Zacky said
“I’ll try.” I said “Just for me?” He asked
“For all of you besides Val.” I said looking at Matt
“What’s wrong with Val?” He asked Val was his girlfriend.
“She hates me and makes fun of me at every chance she gets.” I said keeping something from him
“She just gets jealous fast Sweetie don’t think anything of it.” He said
I smiled at his ignorance and laid down on the floor.
