"So everyone is here right? No one is missing or dead?" Everyone rolled their eyes at my worried tone but shook their heads no. I sighed in relief and cracked open one of the beers that Jimmy had found. Everyone had made a discovery; Johhny with the disguised body, Brian with the journals, Jimmy and his beers.

Overall it had been a successful investigation, and we would be heading back to the campsite soon.

"Well, everyone's here except Zacky and Gena." A soft voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Come to think of it, I haven't seen them for hours."

"Where are they? Should we go look for them?"

Whispers of doubt merged together as my friends began to argue about whether or not to go search for them. Anger started bubbling up as arguing turned to yelling, and then to screaming, then nearly turned to fighting when Brian hit Jimmy.

Johhny-boy and I quickly tore them away from each other, and poor Johhny almost let to of Jimmy cause he was thrashing around and using his size to his advantage.

"Enough! We don't need to be at each others throats, especially at a time and place like this. So shut the fuck up and calm down!!" The screaming subsided and Jimmy and Bri stopped floundering. Order was restored and I regained my authoritive aura as I spoke.

"Now, Zack and Gena are bigs kids, they can care for themselves. But seeing as how they haven't shown up, or even radioed us, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to send a team to search for them. Jimmy, Leana, Lacey. You three stay here and guard our packs. The rest, split into two diff-"

Suddenly, an ear-splitting scream ripped through the quiet of the asylum, causing everyone to freeze. I stared in horror at the group as another scream echoed into the lobby where we were, and instantaneously, everyone began yelling and crying.

I released Brian and stared in terror at the stairwell door, as it was suddenly shoved open. There stood a wide eyed Zacky, covered in blood and shaking uncontrollably, tears streaming down his face, and Gena nowhere to be seen.

"She's dead! It killed her and now it's coming for us! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!" He wailed and dropped to the floor, bawling this same sentence over and over again. All the while, I just stared at Zacky in trepidation, trembling as repugnant thoughts danced in my head.

"DO YOU GUYS EVEN HEAR ME?!? WE'RE DEAD IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING!!!"

The pure sound of fear and heartbreak was enough to push me out of my trance, and I ran to Zacky. Gripping his head in my hands, I mumbled soothing words and sang softly until he finally calmed down enough to get up.

"Zacky, who's going to get us? Where's Gena.... what's going on?" I questioned calmly, though I was feeling anything but calm.

"Gena's.............. dead."

~~~~~A few minutes later~~~~~

"And it.... it just appeared out o-of nowhere a-a-and," Zacky sniffled and allowed another choked sob to shiver down his body, then continued, "It had a hatchet. I c-could barely see it, I just remember a s-s-spray of blood and then I was running! I looked to see what ha-p-pened to Michelle, and she was just laying there and bleeding.... she was bleeding so much...."

"I couldn't see whoever killed her, and I thought at first that it was gone, but then I heard this laughing. It was coming from everywhere.. Off the walls and down from the ceiling... then it said; I'm coming for you Zachary. And your friends. Make haste; your time is drawing towards a bloody end. And I just ran, and ran, until I got back here."

Val rubbed his head comfortingly while everyone stared in shock and consternation at him. Zack had just told us that a monster had guillotined Michelle, and that it was coming for us. How was this even possible? No one had even known about this place, and it just wasn't possible to survive here... So how could Gena be dead, how could any of this be happening?

I reached towards the pack, retrieving my flashlights and hunting knives (I never knew if I would need them, so I brought them anyways), and handed a few to my original search group, my mind set on a mission. They sent me confused looks but I ignored them until I finished, then straightened up.

"Listen everybody. Obviously something happened upstairs, and we need to find out what. I'll take half of the search party, Johhny you lead the other half, and we divide our time between watching out for Gena, looking or the "killer", and looking for any clues as to why this is happening."

Everyone nodded numbly in agreement and slowly pulled themselves up and joined me.

"Jimmy, look after the girls and Zacky and maybe inspect those journals for info. We'll be back." He nodded and reached towards the leather book on top as I led the two teams away and to the stairwell.

It was time to solve this once and for all.
