Chapter 33

***Matt's POV***

I stared at the picture, it looked like Morgan and Andrew.

"Wait" I said, Andrew's mom turned around and I continued, "Is this-"

"Morgan" She finished my sentence.

"Yeah, they were friends?"

"Briefly" She sighed, "They never got along to well, it was a special occasion when they did"

"Why didn't they get along?" I asked.

I was curious, Morgan had never actually explained to me why.

"They just didn't, they had conflicting personalities, Andrew bullied Morgan endlessly and Morgan did nothing, and she always outsmarted him, which made Andrew mad, in the end our families didn't get along to well either"

"Oh thats sad" Brian sighed.

'she always outsmarted him' I just hoped that this was still true.

Andrew's mom grabbed a pen and paper and jotted down an address that said;

94 Haverhill Street 1

"Thankyou" I smiled, "Oh and I never got your name"

"I'm Aubrey… Aubrey Hayes" She smiled, as I gave her my hand to shake.

"Why do you guys need to find Andrew so badly?" She questioned.

"Well, he took Morgan" I replied as I escaped her stare.

"Define took" She replied.

"Kidnapped… in a sense,-" I said as Brian finished my statement.

"He dragged her into his car and drove off" He rolled his eyes in disgust.

Aubrey had her hands over her mouth and was shaking her head furiously.

"I don't know what i'm going to do with that boy" She said as a tear escaped her eyes.

I just stood there knowing that in the back of my mind Andrew could end up in jail.

"Well I do hope you find her" She said, as she wished us luck and said goodbye.

"Thanks" Brian said as we walked towards the car. I climbed in, Johnny, Jimmy and Zacky were in the back seat waiting quietly.

"Any news?" Zacky asked.

"Andrew wasn't there but we got his address" I said as we drove off.

"We're gunna teach that motherfucker a lesson" Jimmy said as he clenched his fists and cracked his knuckled.

I let out a slight laugh, he always knew what to say even in the worst of times.

"Right" I replied.

We drove through the center of town until we arrived at a grey house. Brian got out first and went up to the door. He ruthlessly banged on it.

A man came to the door, "What do you want?" He snarled, through the crack.
"Is Andrew in there?" I snapped.

He unlocked all the locks on the door. The man was wearing a white tshirt and ripped jeans, he had a cigarette in one hand and a beer bottle in the other.

"He ain't here" He said through his teeth as he sucked on the cigarette and puffed out a ring of smoke. He let out a throaty cough and continued, "But he lives up stairs so you can take a look around if ya want" He had a thick Boston accent. Even I was intimidated by him.

Brian and I walked up the stairs. The house reaked of a bunch of different smells, alcohol, smoke, drugs, you name it anything illegal was here.

"It's locked" Brian sighed as he began to turn around.

I didn't care, I smashed into the door with my shoulder as it burst open. If Morgan was in there I was going to find her.

The room was empty. There was an unmade bed in the corner, the shades were half open and there was dirty laundry thrown across the floor.

"Nothing" I sighed.

"How's that shoulder" Brian chuckled.

I pushed past him, out the front door which closed behind me with a slam. I climbed back into the car and his my head against the steering wheel.

"Anything?" Johnny asked.

"Nothing" I groaned as Brian jumped in the car.

It was already getting late and the sun was starting to set, I drove back to Morgan's beach house.

Brian was on her phone the entire time, every once and a while gasping or swearing.

"These texts are bad" Brian sighed.

I nodded my head, I had read them before.

We all trudged into the house and collapsed into our beds. Where was Morgan? I stayed up for the majority of the night thinking about her. I didn't like sleeping without her. I liked the feeling of having her in my arms, where she was safe. I laid still as I gazed at moon that shone outside the skylight, wondering if Morgan was looking at the same one.

Tears escaped my eyes as I slowly fell into a restless sleep. I had to find Morgan.

***Morgan's POV***

I woke up Andrew slowly walking down the stairs in front of me.

"Good you're up" He spoke.

I stayed silent. I felt the back of my head, which was still bleeding slightly. I was so confused.

"Let's talk" Andrew said as he dragged me up the stairs. I tried to place my feet underneath me but my legs were too weak to hold me up.

"What's wrong can't walk?" He laughed.

I forced myself to walk, proving him wrong which make the anger in him build as he clenched his fists. I felt dizzier than ever but I walked up the stairs and into the living room.

"Go" Andrew said pointing towards the hallway. I walked down the long hallway, until he lead me into the guest room, he pushed me forward farther and into the walk in closet, which had a door that led to the other room, which I don't think he knew about.

"Morgan, Morgan, Morgan" He repeated.

"What-d-do you want" I blurted out as tears ran down my cheeks, staining my face. I wiped
them away and rubbed my eyes which were now red and puffy.

"I want justice" Andrew laughed.

"What justice?" I questioned, my voice shaky.

I noticed there were bruises all over my legs and arms. I ached everywhere.

"The justice that I want" He retorted.

I rolled my eyes.

He continued to talk, "Remember that person who attacked you in the alley way?"

"In Huntington Beach?" I asked.

"That was me"

My eyes widened.

"Morgan, you don't deserve to live after what you put your parents through, and i'm going to make sure that happens" Andrew said calmly.

I gulped loudly before saying back, "You don't know anything Andrew"

"I know everything" He snarled before slapping me across the face, causing me to lose my balance and fall backwards. I hit my head on the floor and let out a yelp of pain.

"Don't question me and don't deny me you little bitch" He growled, "I'm going to give you what you deserve."

Tears started pouring down my face. I had to get out of here, I started inching my way towards the door behind the row of coats. Andrew quickly grabbed me and pulled me up. My back cracked loudly.

"AHHH" I screamed out in excruciating pain. I had injured my back badly in the car accident and it never healed. I felt something pull in my lower back and it sent waves of pain all up my spine.

Andrew ignored my pleas as he dragged me towards the basement and brought me down the stairs, leaving me where I was before.

I tried to think of a plan, I had no idea what to do. I sat thinking as I looked up at the small window and at the moon which shone through.

"Matt" I whispered.

I was having a hard time thinking and sitting hurt by back so I stood up which felt better aside from the fact that I was extremely dizzy.

I turned the light on. I knew there was a box somewhere in this house with a bunch of miscellaneous stuff and I think this is where it was. I walked around the room and towards the closet in the corner, struggling to open it. It released eventually and I peered inside, there was the box.

I bent down and reached inside of it, my mom and dad's old cell phones.

"Please work, please work" I whispered to myself as I turned both phones on.

My dad's blackberry lit up, and turned on I quickly dialed my phone number hoping someone would pick up.

"Hello?" A groggy voice answered.

"Matt?" I whispered, excitement and hope filling my voice.

"Morgan?" He said sounding surprised.

"Yeah" I whispered a tear of joy rolling down my face.

"Oh my gosh, Morgan, honey, are you okay? where are you?" He sounded eager.

"I'm-" Before I could finish my sentence the phone was swiped out of my hands. I felt a cold hand grab my shoulder and yank it towards him. Andrew.

"I'm at my house" The last word got muffled as Andrew grabbed his hand and covered my mouth.

'What do you think you're doing" He snapped as he slapped the back of my head, causing me to double over from the pain. I didn't reply.

"Get in the corner" He commanded harshly as he tied the rope back around my hands and to a chair.

I was so close, I thought to myself.

Before Andrew went upstairs he walked over to the phone and spoke into it, "Oh well" Then hung it up. I could hear Matt faintly screaming over the other line before he hit the button and walked upstairs.
