Chapter 21

Once we had finished eating breakfast, we all packed our bags in preparation for the stay at my beach house.

I must have looked concerned as I was gathering my things because I felt two strong arms wrap around my waste as Matt's voice whispered into my ear, "what's wrong"

"Nothing" I lied, "everything's fine"

He wasn't convinced.

"I know something's up, you've been pacing and look like a nervous wreck"

I kept walking around my room making sure I had everything.

"Morgan. Stop" Matt said, getting my attention, "what's going on?" He asked.

I sat down next to him on my bed and rested my head on his shoulder.

"You can tell me anything" he said reassuringly.

I looked up at him, "okay well, the last time I went to my beach house... Was.. Well it was the summer before the accident."

"Ohhh" Matt said.

"Yeah.. It just.. I don't know.. You wouldn't understand" I stopped myself from continuing my sentance.

"Tell me anyways, the least I can do is try to understand" he smiled, and kissed my head.

"Well I know that when I walk through that door, I'm going to be hit with a ton of memories."

He was looking at me with his eyebrows furrowed, listening closely.

"Memories aren't bad but... I don't need memories right now.. Especially when im not over my parents death... "

"You're not over you parents death?" Matt asked.

"no.. I try to be, I try to except it but i just can't" I sighed.

"That must be hard" He said truthfully, which I liked. He wasn't trying to sympathize like the majority of the people I knew. He said it like was. It was more comforting that sympathy.

"Yeah.. Anyways the memories just remind me that they're not here anymore... I still wake up in the morning sometimes and I forget that the accident even happened... I... I expect to go down stairs and see my dad reading Time magazine and my mom in the back yard gardening... I just... Then I realize I'm alone." I gushed as the tears slowly fell down my face.

"You're not alone." Matt said looking into my eyes, "you have me and we're going to get through this together." He said reassuringly as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly.

I wrapped my arms around his next and whispered, "thank you"

"No thanks necessary" he whispered back.

"I'm sorry you have to see my like this so often." I said softly.

"Like what?"

"Like a mess and crying my eyes out"

"Don't be so hard on yourself, I love you and part of loving someone is caring for that person unconditionally" He explained.

I smiled, as he pulled me into a hug.

"Anything else bothering you?" Matt pondered.

"Andrew" I sighed in an annoyed tone.

"If he even comes near you again he will regret it for the rest if his life" Matt huffed.

"I hate to see what you'd do to him" I laughed.

"So would I" he laughed in response.

I slowly got up and started to walk down stairs. They were all down there and waiting.

"You guys take forever" Brian laughed.

"Apologies" I said sarcastically.

"Okay so you guys can just follow me since I'm the only one who knows where anything is here" I said as we all walked out the front door. I hopped into the drivers seat if my car, as Matt hopped into the passengers side.

"Ready?" He smiled, grabbing my hand.

"I hope so" I said shaking my head.

As we drove Matt decided to go through the songs I had on my iPod, which was hooked up to the stereo of my car.

"You have a vast variety of music" he laughed.

"Oh I know" I smirked.

"It's cool" He said as Rudie Can't Fail by The Clash started playing. I mouthed the words and danced along... Well as much as you can dance while driving. Minimal dancing.

"You're so adorable" he blurted out.

I just laughed.

The car ride was mostly quiet as we drove towards are destination. I didn't mind though, silence was nice. We soon reached the house, as I pulled into the driveway. Brian, and the rest of the guys pulled in behind us.

"This is fucking huge, it's like the biggest house on the street" Brian exclaimed.

I looked walked up to the porch as our old neighbor, Gabrielle walked over.

"Morgan!" She yelled, "I'm so glad to see you! I thought I'd never see you again!" She said as she pulled me into a hug.

"I know, I can't believe I'm here either" I laughed.

"I'm so sorry about what happened, I still am in shock." She sympathized. I internally rolled my eyes. Just stop. The sympathy isn't needed here.

"It's okay, I still haven't gotten over it." I said looking down. Matt must've seen that I was on the verge of tears because he came and put his arm around me.

"So are these your friends?" Gabrielle asked.

"Yes, this is Jimmy, Johnny, Brian, Zacky and this is my boyfriend, Matt" I introduced everyone to her. Matt smiled when I introduced him as my boyfriend. I like it too.

"Oh well I hope you have fun while your here!"

"Thanks!" I said as I walked in, along with everyone behind me.

Wow was all I thought as I entered. Wow. Wow. Fucking wow.

I can't believe I'm here, I missed it but there's an eerie feeling looming. I didn't like it as the same time. I was almost regretting the decision, as I walked through the house and onto the large deck off the back of it. The view was even more flawless than I had remembered. I did miss it here.
