It was the night before the wedding and everyone was going bananas; Val was the worst, she had Matt and the guys steal Zacky for the night, under strict instructions not to get him plastered and to keep him away from any strippers while they did whatever it is that guys do on stag nights. I knew the guys would most likely want to take Zacky out anyway so I kept Noah although my parents offered to take him until morning I wanted to have my baby with me tonight since the girls and I were all having a night in watching movies and eating junk food since I’d been dieting like a mad woman for tomorrow.
“You know I’m probably going to gain all the weight I lost back in one night, right?” I said to Val as she walked back into the room from putting Lilly down to sleep and I sat down in front of the TV between Michelle and Lacey with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream after putting Noah to bed.
“No you’re not, I’m just glad I managed to get rid of my baby belly in such a short period of time,” She teased, she freaked out the day we told everyone the date of the wedding because she had only had Lilly a week before and moaned about losing her ‘flab’ in time.
“No offence, but I didn’t think you were the type of girl to get married,” Michelle said
“Me neither, I never imagined it, when I was five I was thinking about everything other than what you were all thinking about – weddings. Now look at me,” I chuckled
We spent the rest of the night watching rom-coms and finding faults with the lead actresses, eating crap and drinking champagne, I had to change Noah a few times, as did Val with Lilly but they weren’t too much trouble so we still had a good night.
“God, I’m not eating or drinking anything else, I feel like shit, I’m going to bed,” I groaned, standing from the sofa and saying goodnight to the girls who were crashing at mine tonight. I slept well despite missing Zacky like crazy and all my nerves were kicking in about tomorrow.
Morning finally came and the girls and I got started on getting ready, I couldn’t keep still while Val did my makeup and Michelle did my hair which got me scolded many times and almost tied to the chair. My hair was styled in loose waves down my back; my makeup was simple and elegant. The three girls all styled their hair in loose up do’s with few curls falling into their faces with light makeup too before getting into their dresses before helping me into mine, the dress had taken me forever to find but it was perfect and fitted me perfectly. Before I knew it we were on our way to the church.
I was finally Mrs Isabella Madison Baker, now happily married with a son and my life could not be better. Zacky and I were dancing our first dance when Noah came running out onto the dance floor in his tiny little tux and demanded that we dance with him too so Zacky scooped him up and we held him between us as we danced and soon everyone else had filled the dance floor and all couples were swaying in time with the music.
