Jimmy sighed and placed his shades on the top of his head. He knew from the very moment she had called that it would end up in heartache for him. It did every time. He honestly could not see why he went to her rescue each time. She was a grown woman. Whatever messes she got herself into she could easily get herself out of. He opened the door to the studio immediately catching sight of Brian lounging on the couch. As soon as he laid eyes on him he looked away and fixed his gaze on Matt.

Matt shot both of them a confused look for a second before starting to speak leaning back in the plush leather chair. He rested his hands on the back of his neck and looked up at Jimmy, ignoring the little display of hostility in Brian’s eyes. He smiled a small smile in an attempt to lighten the mood, but Jimmy only stared coldly at him.

“What’d you need me for? I laid down my parts already,” he said in a slow drawl.

Brian took a long swig of his Jack and continued to glare daggers at Jimmy. Never in as long as he’d known him did he ever think anything would come between them. They had made a pact; a pact that was apparently easily broken. He was jolted out of his thoughts with a jab to his side. Zacky bore straight through him with his eyes as Matt and Jimmy walked into the other room. He glanced at the door before turning to look at Brian again.

“What the hell was that about?” he questioned, taking a sip of his beer.

Brian only waved dismissively and took another swig. Zacky shrugged and took another swig, knowing better than to pester Syn about it. If he wanted to day something, he would sooner or later. Never had he seen Jimmy and him on bad terms, but there is always a first for everything. It must have been something serious.

Emma hiked her bag over her shoulder as she walked along the PCH*. A few cars passed by and honked their horn some even slowed down to shout derogatory and sexist remarks from their windows. Each time her body tensed up, afraid that somehow Brian had found her. The day soon turned into night and still she continued walking, not really sure what she was doing or where she planned to go.

Here she was yet again. Running away; fleeing as soon as things got rocky, but she knew she had to. Being around Jimmy meant being around Brian and that was not an option. Emma couldn’t bear to be next to him for another second. He had torn her apart in so many ways. Just when she thought she was coping well with everything Brian completely tore that away from her. He never would stop. He was and always would be selfish.

She suddenly found herself grow weary and her body ached with every step she took. Nightfall had caught her unaware. She let the bag fall next to her and took a look around. She’d walked a good five miles. Her brain did not accept that fact, but her feet told her otherwise. Now it was only a matter of time before she hitched a ride, like she had done so many times before. This time she wouldn’t look back.

Jimmy sighed as he stepped through the door. In a few short strides, he was in the bedroom. The obvious absence of her was more than painful. He trudged to the bed and sat on the edge of it, placing the keys on the nightstand.

She was gone.

He tried to register the thought. Gone. It was proving difficult to get Brian’s taunting voice out of his head. The sneering comments only grew more pronounced as the seconds passed. He out his face in his hands and groaned.

Here he was, in the same exact situation as before. He had let her into his life for the briefest amount of time and grown attached again only to have her disappear. Jimmy sighed and sat straight up. He grasped the ends of his shirt pulling it off in one swift motion soon lying down on the bed. He closed his eyes and put an arm over his face. Jimmy did his best to try to block out all thoughts of her from his mind, but it was proving to be difficult though he knew he would manage it. He always did until she came asking for help again. Though the next time it happened he wasn’t sure he’d help her so readily.

The next couple of days were a blur. The same cold atmosphere took over the room if Jimmy and Brian both occupied it at the same time. Matt glanced at their removed expressions through the glass’ reflection. Honestly, he was sick and tired of it, but being the friend he was he figured it best to leave it up to them to resolve their issues. They were done recording the tracks now it was a matter of putting up with Fred and Andy’s tweaking. Matt’s eyes followed Jimmy’s reflection as he took a seat a bit removed from Brian on the couch. He quickly snapped out of it and turned to Fred. He was going on about something and, unfortunately, it required Matt’s attention.

Brian shot Jimmy a pointed glare as he slammed his feet up on the coffee table only to be ignored by Jimmy. He examined his nails with a bored expression as he leaned back on the couch. Brian’s little tantrums were nothing he couldn’t deal with. The fact that Emma was gone pained him a little less and he was back to his old self in record time. A couple of more glances and Jimmy rolled his eyes.

“Get over yourself, Brian. Damn, you’re such a dramatic bitch,” he scoffed. “Worse than Baker.”

“Hey, I fucking heard that, asshole!” Zacky’s voice called out from far away.

Brian’s glare only intensified as he crossed his arms over his chest. Jimmy’s smile widened. Some of his jet-black hair hid the gleam in his eyes. Was the almighty Synyster Gates actually jealous? Jealousy had to be founded on deeper feelings than lust and greed. That revelation made Jimmy’s smile widen even more. He was going to have a field day with this development.

“Is Gates jealooooooooooooooooooous?” he questioned as he clasped his hands together and placed them under his chin, batting his lashes at him.

Brian only scoffed and got up from the couch.

“I don’t care about that bitch,” he said coldly.

Jimmy felt the heat instantly rise to his cheeks as soon as the words spilled from Brian’s mouth. He shot daggers at him, his piercing blue gaze boring straight through him. He unclenched his jaw to allow himself to speak. Brian’s smirk graced his lips. He knew he had gotten to Jimmy.

“Don’t fucking call her that. She has a name.”

“Oh, yeah,” Brian said airily as he tapped his chin. “How ‘bout ‘cold, heartless bitch who doesn’t give a shit about anyone but herself’? See, that’s why we were perfect for each other, but you refuse to accept that.”

“Shut the fuck up, Brian.”

“Make me, Sullivan…”
