With You Around

The Best Things Are Never Easy

Every night I went out with the girls and guys it usually ended up with Brian dancing with some other girl and then me shaking my ass on top of a bar. It was getting repetitive.

It was early morning, I was currently taking a shower to bide my time until everyone else woke up. It had been another late night out with the boys of avenged and their respective girls. I was standing pointlessly under the hot water trying to fight off my pounding hang over. I held my head in my hands as memories from last night flooded my mind.

I arrived late to the club, Benji couldn't keep his hands off of me while he and I were at his house. That all changed once we arrived at the club tonight. He didn't want to be near me as I glared daggers at Brian and his tart of the night. Normally I'd have hopped on a table or bar by now and gained Brian's attention but my heart wasn't in this game anymore. That's all this had become, a game.

Finally after probably another ten minutes of watching my heart break yet again, I got up and walked over to the bar. I sat myself on a lonely seat at the farthest end of the bar where only the broken hearted would sit. I glanced at the scene playing out in front of me. Happy couples dancing, girls and their friends dancing, people chatting, people drinking, and then there was me. I scanned the room for Benji, only to find that he to felt the need to move on from me. He and a small brunette where off in a remote corner of the club talking to each other. I turned my back on the sea of people in front of me, and order myself several shots.

It's been hours and so many shots later. I'm drunk, depressed, and I felt like I was floating in an ocean. Lots of people have left and I had assumed that Benji and the Brunette left, like I assumed Brian and everyone else had. However I was wrong. I gave in to my idea of going back to the booth we had all occupied earlier that night to see if anyone was still here.

I noticed Brian and Jimmy to be the only ones still there, Brian's back to me. I only came close enough to hear their conversation. Jimmy never noticed me awkwardly standing there, facing him.

"I feel fucking horrible Jim. I don't know what I should do." Brian choked out. Had he been crying? What did god's gift to women have to cry about?

"I don't know either man, but have you even talked to her about how you feel? I mean how do you think she's been feeling? It's become some sort of sadistic game for you two. We all come out to have a good time and you go off and practically dry hump random girls on the dance floor right in front of her. You may be my best friend, but she's like my fucking sister and your breaking her heart. She won't ever show it but you are. It's bad enough she's been dealing with the pain of loosing a child..." Jimmy trailed off. They were talking about me.

"She wanted to leave me though.." Brain argued lamely.

"You weren't exactly being the nicest guy to her Brian! You were being a fucking prick and you know it." Jimmy was getting angry. I'd never seen him look this way before. I never heard Brian's reply as he hide his face in his hands, trying to cover the still audible sob that left him.

He was crying.

I looked down taking notice of how red my chest had grown from the scolding water. I did nothing to ease it as I continued to stand under the beating water.

Brian's POV

Why was I up so early after my previous rough night I had no idea. I made my way to bathroom across from my room, not taking any notice that the shower was running. If it was any one it was going to be one of the guys, though why would they be awake this early I wouldn't know. I searched the medicine cabinets looking for an aspirin or some Tylenol to ease my pounding head. Finally I succeeded in my hunt finding a bottle of Tylenol. After quickly swallowing two I turned the sink faucet on and cupped some water to drink. It was then that I took notice of the familiar clothing on the floor accompanied by the lacy purple panties and matching bra. Aidan.

I should have left the bathroom as soon as I figured out it was her. How could she have not said anything yet, didn't she notice someone else in the bathroom? I shouldn't walk towards the shower, and I shouln't pull back the shower curtain, but I do. How does she not notice? She's lost in thought. She's standing there in front of me, the water running down her body. I miss you. is all I can think of. I want to cry at the sight of her right now. She hasn't been her self the last few days, even I have noticed the changes in her behavior. She's always sleeping, she barely eats, and she's been drinking a lot more lately. I strip myself of my shorts and invite myself to join her. I'm still unnoticed as I step inside the shower and pull the curtain shut. I remain unnoticed until she finally turns around. Neither of us say anything for awhile, which surprised me. I expected her to yell and scream at me, but the look in her eyes told me she was tired.

They always looked so tired lately.

Aidans POV

"Brian....what are you doing?" I looked him in the eye, as he took a step closer to me.

"Trying to fix what I broke." He reached out for me, but I pulled back from him.

"Why? You didn't care before. What's so different now?" I know that came off angry, and I didn't mean for it to.

"Because you don't deserve what I put you through, or what everyone else has put you through. Tell me what to do so I can fix this. Please?"

"You could start by apologizing," I paused seeing if he even knew what he should apologize for. "Apologize for not being there for me when I needed someone the most, for being an asshole, for being a drunk, for breaking my heart by practically dry fucking those random girls every night, and for-" I was cut off.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry for this." He grabbed my face in his hands and crashed his lips into mine. That was all it took. Not that he would be able to tell but half way through our kiss, I started crying. I didn't think he noticed until he pulled back slightly, only to lean in and kiss my cheeks where my salty tears were lost to the fresh water of the shower. He held me close to him trying his hardest to comfort me, and I clung to him afraid one of us would disappear. All we did was kiss and that seemed to help the world fade away for awhile. I didn't notice that the water had grown cold around us. He did, he still held me as he reached and turned the water off.

He wrapped me a towel around me before he wrapped a towel around his waist. He scooped me up in his arms and walked us to his room where he gently kicked the door shut. It was still early, it was too early. He laid me down on his bed before he climbed in next to me pulling the covers up over us. Neither of us said anything, I think that's because neither of us knew where to start. So we laid there just looking at each other. Our bodies were close together, and our fingers were lightly knitted together. This was going to be hard, even though right now things seemed better.

This was going to be very, very hard.
