I scrambled my way through the crowd to find Matty, or Zacky, or Lucy. I had to tell someone. I bumped into someone and instantly recognized him.
"Matty! Buddy! Listen, I gotta tell you something and I don't think you're gonna like it.." I trailed nervously. Matty's face had shifted from a smile to a confused, worried look.
"What is it?" He asked, not breaking eye contact with me. I scratched the back of my head nervously and said,
"Bella tried to make a move on me just now.." Matty looked angry. He was speechless. I didn't know what to say either so I awkwardly walked away. I needed to go outside. I needed air. I found my way to the back door, which led to the parking lot. I took out my pack of Marlboros and lit one up. About fifteen seconds after I'd lit up, someone else had opened the door to join me. Maybe they needed a smoke to.
I was wrong, this person didn't need a smoke. They were the reason I needed one. It was Bella. She'd followed me out here.
"Brian? Are you okay?" She asked, sounding concerned. I took one last puff from my ciggerette before putting it out.
"Am I okay?" I asked, giving her a dirty look. I softened my voice and calmed down before adding, "I love Mia." She rolled her eyes and stepped closer to me. She said,
"Oh, come on Brian. One kiss. That's all I need." I scoffed and said,
"Ya know, what a coincidence. One is also the number of kisses it'd take for Mia to kick both of our asses, and for Matty to kill me! Math is fun, isn't it?"
"You know you want tooo.." She trailed, getting closer. I took a step back and she looked down, putting on a sad face.
"Matty really has a thing for you. It's best if you just give up on me and just let us be friends, okay?" I asked, holding out my hand to her. She nodded, smiled and took my hand. We shook hands for a split second before she pulled me into her, smashing our lips together. "Oh my god.." I thought. I pushed her off of me and I heard a voice.
"What the fuck, Brian?!" Matty shouted. Ohhh shit..
"I told you! I told you she was trying to get with me!" I shouted, pointing at Bella. She was now running into Matty's arms. He pulled her into a deep embrace and stroked her hair. He asked,
"Baby, what's going on?" She was now pretending to cry. Trying to hold back fake sobs she exclaimed,
"Brian threw himself at me! I-I didn't know what to do! I was just about to go back inside to tell you." My jaw dropped.
"You don't actually believe her, do you?!" I asked. This was ridiculous!
"You're a dead man." Matty said, walking towards me with clenched fists. He grabbed me by my shirt and lifted me up off the ground.
"Dude you've got to be kidding! I'm telling you, I didn't do anything!"
"That sure didn't look like nothing! It looked like you were kissing my girl! What's your problem man, what about Mia? I thought you loved her."
"I do! I was trying to tell her that!" Matty scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"I don't believe this, I thought we were best friends.." He walked away with Bella's hand in his as I pleaded for him to come back and listen to me. Screw this, I'm going home..
